Stéphane Cléroux

Senior Partner

Lawyer, mediator and accredited arbitrator

I am one of the founding partners of Forseti. As an accredited arbitrator and mediator, I also act in this capacity as I am regularly solicited by colleagues for various types of cases. With more than 25 years of experience in dispute management and resolution (before the courts, in arbitration and in mediation), I make sure to put this experience to good use.

As a business owner and serial entrepreneur, I understand the reality of business and the situations that business owners face. I represent and advise a varied clientele, including individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes before all civil courts in Quebec as well as in mediation and arbitration.

I stand out for the practical, effective and creative strategies, solutions and approaches that I propose to my clients during negotiations, mediations, in the course of a case or in court.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME

When I work on your files:

  • I take a step back to visualize the problem as a whole and develop the most appropriate strategy for the situation.
  • I support alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and seek to promote a practical approach.
  • For me, whenever possible, a well-conducted, reasoned negotiation will always be preferable to litigation.
  • I am said to be very determined and goal-oriented.

When I take time for myself:

    • I love to challenge myself physically and mentally. Anything is possible: marathons, triathlons, 70.3 km and 140.6 km Ironman races, Gran Fondos, skiathlons, golf and tennis tournaments… I’m all about challenges!
    • An artist at heart, I’m passionate about writing, painting and music. Some of my own paintings adorn the walls of the office and those of some friends’ and colleagues’ residences.
    • Fortunately, I don’t rely on my singing and instrument playing to make a living!
    • My family and friends are at the heart of my life. The important thing is not where I go or where I am, but with whom..
