Samuel Nadeau

Lawyer

Prior to joining the firm in 2021, I worked for a major regional civil and commercial litigation firm, where I was involved in several large-scale cases and extraordinary recourses.

My practice is often characterized by the urgency to intervene, so I make it a point to be rigorous and to maintain a practical and strategic approach.

I am routinely involved in drafting factums for the Court of Appeal, and helped draft a factum for the Supreme Court in a case in which our clients won.

During my studies, I proudly represented my university in the Laskin Canadian Constitutional and Administrative Law Moot Court Competition and was also involved in various committees and organizations within the faculty during my studies.

Professional implications

  • Young Bar Association of Montreal – volunteer on the Information Technology Committee.
  • Canadian Bar Association

Representative mandates

  • I successfully represented our clients’ interests before the Supreme Court in Ponce v. Société d’investissements Rhéaume ltée, 2023 SCC 25.
  • I represented the interests of a developer and minority shareholder in a shareholder dispute that led to the restructuring of a real estate development company involved in a major project on the South Shore.
  • I have assisted several SMEs in the recovery of financial fraud.

Publication

  • Contribution to “Repenser l’administration de la preuve par expertise en droit disciplinaire” in the Revue du Barreau canadien, vol. 99.

What you should know about me

When I work on your files:

  • I take the time to organize the information to better understand it.
  • I break down big problems into small steps so I can work through them methodically.
  • I prefer to take the initiative rather than wait for luck.
When I take time for myself:

  • During my vacations, chances are that you will find me near the ocean.
  • I am nostalgic of the TV series of the 90s and I have a penchant for political series.
  • I am usually the one who organizes and takes charge of the planning of group activities.
